Pierce was an internationally well known portrait photographer (b1864-d1943) who took photos of high ranking society members and other important figures including Theodore Roosevelt’s daughter (Alice Roosevelt Longworth), artists Henry Clay Frick, Thomas Moran, and industrialist John Singer Sargent. His showed his work at the National Academy of Design, the American Institute, The Royal Photographic Society and annually at the Photographers Association of America exhibits. He is listed by the National Portrait Gallery as a socialite as well as a photographer. An amazing piece to own if you are a photographer, collector or a socialite!
