The Photo shows 18 members of the the Randsburg Volunteer Fire Department posed holding the hose line from their horse-drawn Chemical Fire Engine, which was equipped with duel soda-acid chemical tanks. This was a very expensive piece of fire apparatus of the time. The town had little water available so thus the reason for such a large size chemical engine being used.
