CAROLE LOMBARD / MY MAN GODFREY (1936). Vintage original 8 x 10 20 x 25 cm. Single weight glossy silver gelatin print keybook still photo, USA. William Powell, Carole Lombard, Alice Brady, Gail Patrick, Eugene Pallette, dir: Gregory La Cava; Universal. A beautiful portrait of the exquisite Carole Lombard costumed for her role of Irene Bullock. Lombard played the spoiled daughter in a wealthy eccentric family who finds a “forgotten man” (William Powell) during a scavenger hunt and makes him her butler — while falling for him as well. Travis Banton designed Lombard’s gowns for this film. Gregory La Cava wrote, directed and produced this classic screwball comedy. This is a keybook still with the linen tape on the verso and the three holes punched at the top. There is a typed blurb on the verso also, indicating that this portrait is an “Exclusive to Miss Livingston, ” and therefore was likely used for just one publication. It must come back in the same condition as it was sent. AUTHENTICATION: My name is Walter Reuben. I have been collecting movie posters since 1978. I have been a full-time dealer since 1982.
