Antique 19th century, 1870s, original Stereoview photograph. This is a rare and early view depicting a Mountaineer standing with one foot on a rock overlooking Catheral Peak with Cathedral Lake in the foreground in Yosemite Valley, California. I was unable to reference this particular image anywhere leading me to believe this was not a mass produced view. No identifying photographer or publisher information. Period pencil inscription on verso reads Yosemite Valley. A quick internet search offered no example of this specific photo; quite worthy of further research. In Very Good overall condition. Image is clean and crisp with the exception of two small spots on the left side view. No scuffs, scrapes, rips, creases, bends or tears. Mat is clean with some gentle spots on the left margin.
