Slavery Era Florida Rare 1860s CDV Photo White Woman, Dau, Black Boy Slave
CDV is 4″ x 2.5″ and in very good antique condition, with that light discoloration streak. The boy’s face and collar have darkening to them.. I could be wrong, but it looks intentional, as if somebody tried to make him appear a little less obvious in the photo! A fascinating image, one I have never seen before. It was photographed by Samuel P. Burgert’s “Actino” photo car. Burgert operated in Florida, mostly Jacksonville, from the 1860s, possibly earlier, to at least the 1890s.
