Extremely rare one of a kind historical piece, found in the back of a metal cigarette case made in the 1880’s. The cigarette case preserved the cards well, from a point in time when owning an erotic photo would cost multiple times more, than simply visiting your local brothel and paying for the lady of the night in person. It was rare to find a nude photo, let alone an erotic photo, as back than they were illegal to own & distribute, also extremely expensive. Some black market imports from france, or locally made in the west included photomechanical reprinting technology of these said “Lady’s of the night” on the form of playing/poker cards. These cards are nearly impossible to find now a days (if any still exist at all) & on top of all of that, the estimated date on these cards would of been around the time printing technology was first being explored by the public, making these an absolute one of a kind. The metal cigarette case that held the cards, also contained several other. Button & eyeglass tools made in the 1880’s to 1890’s era. The case was made in. Some tools were made in Austria, & the rest made in U. There was also a silver Royal Canadian Military Uniform Button dating around the 1890’s, & a Queen Victoria Royal Jubilee Brooch dating 1837 to 1897. I believe the case which contained the cards, were owned by a French, or English Canadian. With a great look to it and nice colors. May be showing some scratching and wear on it and marks, usual from age, please refer to photos. In excellent shape for the age, none the less!
