Please let us know if you have any questions. Maroon Bells, Colorado, 1951 Gelatin Silver Print Dry Mounted (with archival, museum quality materials). 15.25″ x 19.25″ image size. New to the secondary market. Allen White from the Weston Gallery in Carmel, California with. Title, date and “Parasol Press, Portfolio VI” ink stamp on reverse. This pristine Ansel Adams print is signed in pencil on the front lower right margin on the mount and numbered 100/110 on the left lower margin. A copy of a letter to Dr. White from Ansel Adams asserts further authenticity (see item 1 noted in letter) and notes the print being included in Portfolio VI, in an edition of 110, Printed in 1974 from the original 1951 negative and notation that the negative has been cancelled and never to be printed from again; making this a very limited edition and one of a kind print in a series. The print is in superb, excellent condition. Within the brushed aluminum frame archival materials were used. The print is mounted with a separate mat and laid on top of another archival board. These are then maintained snugly within the frame with sheets of photo framing board to fill the interior space and not require framing clips. The Plexiglas face is in very good – excellent vintage condition. A full record of provenance will accompany the sale of this photograph including a copy of the original Ansel Adams letter, a copy of the envelops that accompanied the letter from Ansel Adams and the Weston Gallery and a letter of authenticity from the son of Dr. Recently, Matthew Adams, the grandson of Ansel Adams and the current director of the Ansel Adams Gallery was made aware of this and other Ansel Adams prints we have and will be offering for sale.
