Vintage Naval Aviator Photo Album & Documents – Panama Canal Zone – 1929 Lindbergh. This item is a very old photo album and a collection of extra photos and documents, put together by a USA Naval Aviator in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The photo album is thin and has only about 20 photos in it. The photos do have writing that help identify the Aviator and the album appears to be documentation of his flight school. There are several hand written letters and some greeting cards dated 1929 and 1930. There is also a Christmas 1929 dinner menu. There are 60 lose photos that were never put into a photo album. Many of these have writing on the reverse side and most appear to have been taken in Panama and the Canal Zone. Quite a few of them have writing on the reverse side with reference to Panama and C. Some of these look very familiar to me as I lived in the Panama Canal Zone in the 1950s and 1960s. There is a connection with Charles Lindbergh with this collection. A couple of the photos look like France Field as I remember it, but the photo is taken straight down from the aircraft and I cannot see Coco Solo or Limon Bay Another cool item in this collection is a full sheet showing a hand drawn sketch of the spirit of St. Not sure if the Naval Aviator is the artist or if it was one of his friends? Finally, there is a postally used envelope from the Panama Canal Zone to Miami and New York dated 1929. The envelope also has a nice cachet on the left hand side. Take my work for it. It is rather nice and in very good condition. The photo album has signs of age. Some of the photos have also faded with age, but are not washed out. A few of the photos came lose lose from the pages and they are included in the count of 60 lose photos. If you are interested in Charles Lindbergh and/or the Panama Canal Zone, then this would be a good collection for you to go through and do some detective work. Lots of fun if you like to explore historical documents and put a story together.
