MARILYN MONROE GOES TO COURT (1954) by Bernard of Hollywood. Vintage original 7 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ 18 x 23 cm. Black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, FINE. Marilyn Monroe is seen leaving her home with attorney Jerry Geisler on the day of her divorce from Joe DiMaggio. Monroe announced her divorce on Oct. 6, 1954, after nine months of marriage, claiming mental cruelty; DiMaggio wanted a stay-at-home wife. The couple remained close, though, and resumed a relationship after Monroe divorced third husband Arthur Miller in 1961. DiMaggio would make sure her grave always had fresh roses delivered to it. Photographed by Bernard of Hollywood (as stamped on verso), famously known for his pin-up portraits. Sizing markings and date of February for publication use are also present on verso. It must come back in the same condition as it was sent. AUTHENTICATION: My name is Walter Reuben. I have been collecting movie posters since 1978. I have been a full-time dealer since 1982.
