Mark Klett (born 1952) was born in Albany, NY. After getting a B. Lawrence University in Geology in 1974 he worked as a photographer with the U. In 1977 he completed an MFA from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY, studying with Nathan Lyons. His photographic work has focused on explorations of mans interaction with the American landscape, and more recently on issues of photography in time including re-photography. Awards for his work have included an Emerging Artist Fellowship for the National Endowment for the Arts in 1979, 2 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships in 1982 and 1984, Photographer of the Year from Friends of Photography in 1993, a Japan/U.
