This photograph originates from the internationally famous Beken of Cowes sailing archive on the Isle of Wight, England. The picture was taken in 1934 by Frank Beken (1880 – 1970) and is of the J-Class sailing yachts “Britannia, Astra, Shamrock V, Candida, & Velsheda”. The image has been printed using the original 8″ x 6″ glass plate negative in our ownership. The black and white photograph is a museum grade, archival pigment print also known as a Giclee print and has a matt black frame edged in sliver and a 45 degree bevel cut white conservation mount board giving great depth to the picture with water white glass.
