Also unlike virtually all of our other vintage images, this image was printed in the United Kingdom and might have some slight wear or very tiny spotting. This photo is stamp-signed on the reverse in Russell Gay’s distinctive two color logo.. (see additonal scan for sample of this stamped logo). It is quite typical of his photography, which consisted of photographing young busty British models partially clothed in lingerie, panties, garter belts and nylons. Most of his images can also be identified by the elaborate, and many times, classical settings in which he posed his models. He photographed models beginning in the mid 1950’s for inclusion in magazines such as ” Spick , ” ” Span, ” and Beautiful Britons. ” His work was later featured extensively in ” Modern Man , ” and ” Figure Photography. We are happy to be able to offer this SCARCE ORIGINAL VINTAGE PRINT. Photographed by Russell Gay and hand printed in Britain in the early 1960’s on fiber paper. This VINTAGE Photo was originally printed for and possibly used in the production of a pin-up magazine. Any “airbrushing” was used to enhance the final appearance of the image in the magazine, generally along rounded areas of the body. None of our photos feature airbrushing used to conceal parts of the model’s body. It’s possible that writing on the reverse has been impressed through to the front of the image, but unless otherwise noted, it is off to the side and does not affect the model at all.
