An original 1942 Pressbook that was sent to theater owners to order various sizes of movie posters and lobby cards to display and advertise. Most were cut up by theater owners when they placed their orders and sent in the cut out movie poster style and attached to order forms. This 73 year old beauty was never cutup and is in extraordinary condition with sensational artwork and graphics on the cover of Lon Chaney as Frankenstein! The fourth silver screen outing for Mary Shelley’s legendary creature was this film, in which Ygor (Bela Lugosi), tries to help his friend the Monster Lon Chaney Jr. , who has been sorely depleted of the energy he needs to live. Seeking to restore him, Ygor contacts the son of the Monster’s creator, Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein (Cedric Hardwicke), who becomes obsessed with returning the Creature to full power. In the end, Frankenstein ends up transplanting Ygor’s brain into the Monster’s body, with terrifying results. This is a well preserved and uncut pressbook from the Universal horror thriller. The book was previously folded in half horizontally, with slight fold and spine wear. There is a six page advertising supplement included.
