Signed by the artist lower right. (1861 1941) was a U. Minister, photographer, artist, and antiquarian, who is most famous for his landscape, hand-colored photographs of New England. He also was an accomplished author (see our Wallace Nutting book listings), lecturer, furniture maker, antiques expert and collector. His atmospheric photographs helped spur the Colonial Revival Style. A sweet herd of sheep grazing near water are the centerpiece of the photograph.
