Marilyn Monroe Vintage Crystal Clear Photo from the “Last Photos” collection by George Barris, July, 1962. This is a unique fantastic candid image of Marilyn taken from a different side. The superb image is approximately 5 inches X 7 inches, and it is a borderless photo. This photo was part of a collection of photos taken by George Barris in July of 1962, and known as the “Last Photos”. This image has been reported as being taken in a Hollywood Hills home, and one of the images from the “Last Photos” collection. The offered photo is being represented as an Original, Borderless Silver Gelatin Double Weight Photo, 5″ X 7″ in Mint Condition. The surface is fabulous, and retains its original semi gloss. Its edges, and corners are all sharp and clean. Based on PSA / DNA standards, an original Type 1 photo is one that is made within two years of when the original photo was taken, and created from the original negative. Although this photo may be a Type 1 Photo, it has not been authenticated, and its actual creation date is unknown. It is stamped on the back: “PLEASE CREDIT George Barris PHOTO ENTERPRISES”. In many data sources, it was reported that George Barris was good friends with Marilyn Monroe (dating back to his first photo shoot of her in 1954). Rear of the photo also contains a second stamp showing his France Address. It is likely the photo was created from the original negative some time in this time period (1962+- to 1982+-). For no other reason (in my opinion) then its superb, very clean mint condition, it was likely created from the original negative, but more then two years after the photo was originally taken. The photo was also likely printed Prior to C. 1987 when many prints were produced in association with the Edward Weston Archives (aka Edward Weston Collection). This particular image is also sometimes labeled: Marilyn Monroe “Last Photos” Pucci. Pucci is known as being a favorite fashion designer of Marilyn’s, and reported as her preferred clothing in 1961-62. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
