1930’s US NAVY Chinese YANGTZE PATROL Vintage CHINA PHOTO ALBUM with 475 Photos. Fresh from a local estate. The sailor was deployed in the 1930’s, as part of the Yangtze River Patrol Force. This oversize album measures 10 1/4″ x 13 1/4″ and contains 64 pages. It is filled with nearly 500 photos I quickly counted 475 images. Album weighs almost 6 pounds! Almost all of the photos are identified with period inscriptions, and all are held in place by corner tabs. Photos are easily removable, as they are not glued or pasted into the album. A large 7 5/8″ x 9 5/8″ tinted view of the US Navy Clemson-class destroyer USS PAUL JONES, with backstamp from AH-FUNG OKAY PHOTO SERVICE, in China. Several 1934 views of and from the USS MISSISSIPPI in New York and Norfolk. Views of Chefoo, China (Yantai). Original snapshots of officers and crew aboard the USS ISABEL. Numerous views of Kulangsu, China (Gulangyu Island). Numerous views of Amoy, China (Xiamen). Numerous views of Tsingtao, China (Qingdao). Numerous views of Shanghai, China. Numerous views of Swatow, China (Shantou). Numerous views of Shameen Island and Canton, China (Guangzhou) – (of special interest are numerous views of a funeral procession in the streets of Canton).
