This photograph originates from the internationally famous Beken of Cowes sailing archive on the Isle of Wight, England who acquired the West collection in 1913. The picture was taken in 1894 by Alfred John West (1857 – 1937) and is of the Prince of Wales sailing yacht Britannia. The image has been printed using the original 8″ x 6″ glass plate negative in our ownership. The black and white photograph is a museum grade, archival pigment print also known as a Giclee print and has a matt black frame edged in sliver and a 45 degree bevel cut white conservation mount board giving great depth to the picture with water white glass.
