Vintage Andersen Meyer Chinese Factory Photo Presentation Album Gelatin Silver. Lovely hardcover presentation album for Andersen, Meyer & Co. This album was likely given to important company executives and valued customers. Photos appear to be gelatin silver process black and white (we cannot be certain of the process used). They are glued into the album on the left. When the photos are viewed on an angle, you can see the silver sheen. The edges where they are glued are slightly darker overall than the rest of the photo. Some of the unattached sides have a slight curl. A few have minor slight discoloration at the bottom edge of the photo. And fewer have more pronounced brown discoloration on more of the photo. Nearly all are suitable for framing if carefully removed from the book, but the whole has great historical value. The front cover has a map pasted on the inside and you can see residual evidence of water. The book has a hardcover back and front and is tied together with the original twine.
