Wolff, who set up a photography studio in Frankfurt shortly after the first World War, went into partnership with Tritschler in 1925. The pair went on to enjoy great success and, amongst many other commissions, were the official photographers of the 1936 Berlin Olympics. These 6 photos, done circa 1930, are of Frankfurt landmarks. Each photo, 7″h x 5″w (18 x 13 cm), is attached to a white linen-backed paper mount (9.5″h x 7″w), with title and credits on the verso. Generally in fine, clean condition. Some discoloration on the back, consistent with age. Mild creases or minimal damage may be found on the paper mount, but the photos are in good condition. These are a mournful photographic reminder of a city, rich in history, before its breathtaking architecture was destroyed by air raids in 1944 and taken by a man made famous for his equally paramount artistic photographs.
